On Sunday, December 22, the second session of the 2024 Recurrent Education Program, titled “Let’s Learn the Basics and Practice of Seating Posture Adjustment for Elderly Care! Practical Edition: ‘Introduction and Utilization of Various Wheelchairs, Practical Techniques for Posture Adjustment Using Seating’ (Lecture and Practice),” was held at Ishikawa Prefectural Nursing University.

We once again invited Mr. Shunsuke Kimno, an expert in seating (Representative of Ordinary Life Co., Ltd., Physical Therapist, and Certified Care Manager), who provided detailed teachings on seating posture in wheelchairs, reviewed the fundamentals of seating, and covered the types of and characteristics of wheelchairs, as well as how to select and adjust the appropriate wheelchair for each individual. Matsunaga Manufacturing Co., Ltd. also joined us, demonstrating proper wheelchair setup using demo units.

Following the basic session, the practical session provided many valuable lessons, making it a very meaningful lecture. We will continue to learn seating techniques and promote the dissemination of these skills, not only in wheelchair development but also across various fields.
